Do you remember those weimaraners that where made famous in Sesame Street? They were posed like numbers and letters and often dressed up to act. In 2006 those dogs made a Christmas movie called William Wegman's Fay's Twelve Days of Christmas and it is now available on DVD. In the movie William Wegman brings together his famous family of weimaraners to get ready for the holidays in a "witty and delightful festival of decorating, crafts, cooking, gift wrapping and fruitcake."
That is just one of the many Christmas movies that are available this season, but only a few of them feature animals.
Do you have something special you want to get for Christmas this year? Or do you have a special goal to give something this year? I bet you have been checking out those sales. This Christmas I plan on doing more for those animals who no longer have a family, they are living in local shelters because their families have lost their homes. I will be making several smaller blankets out of a few larger blankets that I have. The local shelter has a desperate need for blankets, bagged dry food and cat litter. I was hoping that I would be able to donate some money from commission sales in the pet store, linked above, but so far nothing has sold.
I will be looking out for other local opportunities to help out animals during the holiday season.
