All the Creatures

It is New Years day 2012 (I had better get use to writing that - 2012) and I am making a vow to you, my reader. I vow to write more controversial posts this year. Ones that will hit home with you. I vow to find out and write more about bad veterinarians, just like there are bad human doctors, our pets have their share or quacks in the business too. It does make you wonder if Malpractice insurance for doctors is for veterinarians too. I will find that out.

I also vow to put more news videos on the blog. I use to do that years ago but slowly moved away from it. I must not forget the funny videos too. I think that you want to be entertained as well as informed.

I vow to find more coupons for you to save money on pet food and supplies. I have not updated that coupon page of mine in some time now. I have got to do that.

I vow to make this the best animal blog ever. With over 700 posts now on the blog and you visiting at least once a week, it is well on its way.

Most of all, I would like to thank you for visiting this blog, even if this is the first time. You are what this blog is all about, animal lovers.

As a blog owner and writer I often get some very strange comments and requests. Most are the usual “love the blog and please visit my website” and when I click on their link it does not take me to anything remotely related to animals or pets. Needless to say those comments are not approved at all. Then I get the requests for product recommendations. They want to know where to buy cheap hamster cages or what is the best fly spray for their horse. Unless I know the answer from my own experience I cannot give a recommendation.

Of course I do get my fair share of people who want me to write about their pet or animal products. I got a request a few days ago to write about bridgeport stoneware feeders and aquarium nails kits, neither of them do I know anything about and of course they are not willing to send me those products to test. They want me to write about them by just visiting their website and write glowing reports about them…………..I think not. I have done blog posts on dog food that was supplied by the dog food maker but it was limited to a few sample bags not a real test of their dog food. A real test would be a months supply of the stuff and see how my dog’s body reacted to the food over a month.

As long as I continue to write, I am sure that I will continue to get some strange requests.

I was just visiting my statcounter stats and found out that, almost everyday this month, this blog has been getting 700+ unique visitors a day. That is up by 100 visitors a day over last month. Now I have to go shopping for Advantage flea control for my min pin. I’ll probably get it off of eBay since I can buy 4 doses for about $16.00 with free shipping. That sure does beat $44 for 3 doses that I buy at the vets office. Ummm, while I am at eBay I think I will check out to see if they have any pendant lighting cheap.
