blog stuff
Oh how I really dislike internet thieves. In January of last year I was offered the chance to start another blog on a community blogging website. Here is the blog post I wrote about it. In the beginning I was thrilled with all of the pats on the back I got on that site. My blog over there was growing and growing in traffic and during the last 6 months it was in the top 20 of the blogs on there. Then without warning the owners of the blogging community sold the domain name to NBC. That happened in May 2010. I wrote one blog post after the sale, when the blog was moved to a new domain name and that new post only appeared on the blog for a few days then disappeared. The post was simply a statement of the new domain the blog was now located on and how I hoped my readers would find me, nothing more. It was after the new post disappeared I found that I could not write on my blog. I could log in but that was it. I emailed support and this is the email they sent back:
We regret to inform you that your account with BlogDog.com has been
canceled. We removed your last post of May 8th and your account
balance of $XX.XX was transferred via PayPal on June 10th.
Sincerely,
BlogDog.com Support
No indication of why they did it but they have my work and continue to make money in the form of Google ads on it.
I am not the only one who was duped by these unsavory bunch of thieves there are more. Here is a list of those that wrote about their experiences with today dot com.
To Hell with Today
Avoid the scam “blogdog” like the plague
I will not put a link to the blog that they stole from me since I don’t want to give them any link juice or traffic. Damn, I feel violated.

blog stuff
I never thought that this blog would have lasted this long. I thought for sure that I would have gotten bored writing it by now, but I haven’t. It is the little things about this blog that keep me going. For example the blog post about the hippo and the tortoise still gets hundreds of views each day. That post never seems to get old, even though it was written about 2 years ago now. I also get the occasional angry commenter that is frustrated that they can’t comment on an old blog post (remember I shut down comments on posts older than 3 months old) so they comment on an unrelated post.
Advertising has brought me an untold amount of wackos. On the “advertise here” page I kinda hint that the advertising has to be animal related. So why do I get people wanting to place an ad for a Texas Truck accident lawyer and a beauty skin cream? I also get the occasional email wanting me to place an entire post on my blog complete with links to other websites - for FREE. They told me to think of it as a guest blogger. I told them no thanks and hinted they should get their own blog and do that.
I do like meeting other bloggers like Ask Fisher. I also love it when my blog is mentioned on a message board for everyone to see a news video I have posted. Yep, blogging is fun and it has been a blast.

The other “All the Creatures” blog at today.com has been changed. Today.com has moved everything over to blogdog.com which I really don’t understand. I have updated the link to it in the right side column and changed the name of the blog to “All the Creatures II” So far they have been having problems with the new format. The photos were hosted over at today.com and it looks like they wiped the today site clean, and with it all the hosted photos. I really can’t understand why a large blogging community would make such a dramatic change. They have now lost all search engine ranking and it is like starting all over again.
This blog continues to grow. My daily visitors are up and so are the spam comments. I am so thankful for the spam filter. I still look at what shows up in the spam folder to see if anything of value is there but mostly it is long winded comments with 100’s of spam links to strange sites with keywords that don’t even match the links. So here is a friendly reminder, don’t spam this blog with viagra, books on tape, sensa scams, or my all time favorite horse race gambling. It seems that because I write about horses, all the horse racing odds makers want to push their system on this blog. Leave this blog alone.
I now return you to your regular reading.
