I have decided to do a bit of blog tidying up. Besides going back to the older blog posts and removing the ability to post comments, which greatly reduces the spam I get, I will be updating the coupon and freebie page. Updating that page might take a few days as I search for stuff to list, so hang in there, I will have new savings listed and hopefully find some giveaways.

Thank goodness I am finally using the Wordpress filter to ban IP numbers. Once I put that to good use I noticed that spam comments about adult acne treatments and check out my Juno page (whatever that is) have almost become a once a week thing instead of everyday.

I figure that by doing blog maintenance will ease the pain over losing Sabra and allow me to focus on other things right now. The other horses are still looking for her and it breaks my heart to see her buddy, Lady, whinnying for her in pasture. Having to have a horse put down is never easy, even when you had been suspecting that day would come for months.

Ever since Google changed to that instant search last week, this blog has seen a marked increase in visitors from Google. I have not done anything different at my end of the blog so it must be something that Goolge has changed. All I can say is THANK YOU GOOGLE.

Wait a minute, I did do something different a few weeks back. What I did was to link this blog to Twitter so that when I post to the blog, an automatic tweet is sent directly to my Twitter account.  If that is what triggered the increase in visitors and not Google, then I should have done that months ago.

If this keeps up I will start investing in some nicer computer equipment at home, maybe a new Linksys router or better yet an iPad. One can only dream, can’t one?

For anyone who is interested in what has been going on behind the scenes at this blog, here are some updates. First I would like to say I am thrilled that this blog has subscribers via the Kindle. It took about 3 weeks for the 1st subscriber to sign on but it has only been a steady climb since then. Next, I think that I have finally gotten the relentless comment spammers under control. I haven’t had a spam comment for about 2 weeks now (knocking on wood here) and I hopefully won’t see anymore “click here for natural acne treatment” type comments in the future.

Since the holiday shopping season is just starting, I will be reviewing some products in the coming weeks for pet owners and animal lovers. Not everyone is able to own a pet, but everyone can admire animals.

I would also like to thank those of my readers who are members of Stumble and use the button at the bottom of each post to Stumble that post. This blog gets about 30% of its daily visitors from Stumble.
