Yes, you do hear about these odd instances of beastiality also called zoophilia but it usually involves just one known act.  This time, a man had just finished serving a 16 month prison sentence for having sex with a horse, twice, once in 2007 and again in 2009 - with the same horse!! This bizarre true tale can be found at this news article.

This morning I was greeted by the news that Britain has decided to sell off as much as half of their formerly protected forests. The historic forests of New Forest, which was planted during Henry the VIII’s time and Sherwood Forest are endanger of being cut down.

The economy, or at least the overspending by the British government, has put the government in a bind, financially that is. They have decided to sell something to get more money, unfortunately that something is ancient forests.

Maybe someone should show them that instead of trying to raise more money, they should cut back on overspending. After all we have all learned not to live on credit cards nowadays. Isn’t is best to treat the cause rather than the symptom? Much like avoiding excessive sun exposure rather than finding a treatment for wrinkles.

Yes, forests do grow back but not if the land has been paved over due to development which is likely if the forest land is sold.  Even if forests are replanted the resulting trees take about 40-50 years to grow to harvesting size.

Now I am just waiting for the protests and riots to take place over the decision, if any.

The World Equestrian Games will be broadcast on NBC this coming Sunday. Will you be watching? I know I will. It is not very often that horse sports are broadcast on TV. I am not including the 5 major horse racing broadcasts because they are betting related and I won’t get into that right now.

So what does the World Games include? They have pretty much the same events as the Olympics does with the addition of the driving events. If you want to get more familiar with what goes on you can play a virtual PC game that is geared toward not only competing in cross-country and jumping but in training your horse for the competition. Yes there is one and it does not have Barbie anywhere in sight. It is called “The Equestrian” and I have not seen it on sale off of the internet.

The game has the following features and levels:

Complete career mode with training and competitions in the 3 events 30 jumping courses, 18 cross courses and 13 dressage programs : Large number of horses and horse robe to choose from : More than 25 training programs and 3 levels of competition - Regional, national and international : Personalized training program so you get organized.

I personally would like to see a horseback riding game come out for the Wii, I can only imagine how that would work out…….LOL
