Yes, you do hear about these odd instances of beastiality also called zoophilia but it usually involves just one known act. This time, a man had just finished serving a 16 month prison sentence for having sex with a horse, twice, once in 2007 and again in 2009 - with the same horse!! This bizarre true tale can be found at this news article.

I am not talking about spoiling your pet, I am sure we are all guilty of that at one time or another, I am referring to treating your pet like a human child with expectations of that pet acting very much like a human. One of the most common “tricks” that some owners like to do is teach their dog or cat to “speak.”
“I love you,” is the most common phrase that is captured on video and put on YouTube and AFV, that dogs whine out. Dogs are not alone, cats can utter sounds that to us could be a phrase or word.
Speaking is just one step towards the pet being treated like a human child, some pet owners even go as far as acquiring a small primate and dressing it up, buying personalized baby gifts for their “child” and even throwing elaborate birthday parties.
The problem with all of this is that pets will not react as human children do. Pets will react as their instincts tell them to. To treat an animal with the same expectations as we expect of a human child would be a disservice to that animal.
So why do people treat animals like children? There are a few explanations. One would be that they want a substitute for the human child they never had or to replace a human child they had lost. Another explanation would be to copy something they have seen on TV or to copy how someone they know treats their pet. The last explanation would be that the trend is slowly becoming more acceptable to our society. I remember when dressing up your dog was limited to the 5 year old child having fun, not the current trend of buying elaborate costumes for special occasions and then taking out your pet to show it off.
Whatever the reasons, people need to keep in mind that their pet might react in a way that they did not expect it to when being treated like a child.

This year, in April, will mark 26 years since the nuclear reactor at Chenobyl melted down and caused the permanent mass evacuation of over 200,000 humans from the surrounding areas. But what happened to the animals in those areas? Those people were not allowed to take their pets with them, at least that is what I have found out. That stems from the government misleading those people that they would be allowed to return after 3-4 days. That fact we know was untrue. So what happened to the animals?
According to the photo journalist Filatova Elena Vladimirovna who travels into the zones around Chenobyl “wild animals thrive.” Official government sources deny that there are any genetic mutations in the animal populations but she has reported seeing some odd looking “wolves.” Someone brought some “Prejevalsky Horses” (her spelling not mine) to the area a few years ago (in the early 2000’s) and there are now 3 herds of them. To read more about her exploits in the aftermath of Chenobyl, visit her website at elnafilatova.com
Other facts that I gleaned from the internet is that all of the horses (or at least most of them) that were left during the evacuation developed thyroid cancer within days and then died.
You will find a wealth of video information on YouTube about the area and even the news reports of the current government wanting to farm the area now. After tests of the fruit being grown wild in the area now, scientists have found that the plants are now resistant to radiation. My question is, who are they going to get to farm the area? Radiation in the soil is still high enough to kill farmers.
