Hot winter stops bears sleeping

A brown bear
A troop of brown bears in Germany are being stopped from sleeping by this year’s (2007) high winter temperatures, which could cause them big trouble. The creatures would normally have a long winter sleep in order to recharge their batteries and get ready to have their babies.

But recent warm weather has kept the group in a nature park in Worbis awake, and they’re struggling to find food. There was no info available to find out if humans have stepped in to help the bears or not. Who would have thought that bears would have sleep disorders.

With 2007 set to be another scorcher, the bears aren’t out of the woods yet.
