The World Equestrian Games
The World Equestrian Games will be broadcast on NBC this coming Sunday. Will you be watching? I know I will. It is not very often that horse sports are broadcast on TV. I am not including the 5 major horse racing broadcasts because they are betting related and I won't get into that right now.
So what does the World Games include? They have pretty much the same events as the Olympics does with the addition of the driving events. If you want to get more familiar with what goes on you can play a virtual PC game that is geared toward not only competing in cross-country and jumping but in training your horse for the competition. Yes there is one and it does not have Barbie anywhere in sight. It is called "The Equestrian" and I have not seen it on sale off of the internet.
The game has the following features and levels:
Complete career mode with training and competitions in the 3 events 30 jumping courses, 18 cross courses and 13 dressage programs : Large number of horses and horse robe to choose from : More than 25 training programs and 3 levels of competition – Regional, national and international : Personalized training program so you get organized.
I personally would like to see a horseback riding game come out for the Wii, I can only imagine how that would work out…….LOL
